With just a few weeks to go before Rio 2016, do you know where your Olympics coverage will be? Unless you’re heading to Brazil to catch the equestrian action first-hand, you’re probably going to want to figure out your television and internet options now — so you can plan to put the rest of the world on hold accordingly! Here’s the details we have on equestrian coverage for the 2016 Olympic games.
NBCUniversal’s combined networks and digital platforms plan on presenting nearly 7,000 hours of Olympics coverage — that’s more than ever before. They’ll be splitting the work between cable channels like Bravo, CNBC, MSNBC, and USA Network (among others) but there will also be live-streaming online. This should be great news for equestrians, who have spent a long time dealing with the highlights reel of dressage and cross-country tests.
Of course, thanks to USEF Network and other horse show websites, many of us have gotten accustomed to live-streaming our favorite equestrian events. It looks as though the 2016 Olympic Games will be no exception to our new favorite way to catch equestrian action. Live-streaming will be running on nbcolympics.com, and the equestrian schedule looks like this, with all air times beginning at 9 AM Eastern:
Saturday and Sunday, August 6-7th: Eventing: Individual and Team Dressage
Monday, August 8th: Eventing: Individual and Team Cross-Country
Tuesday, August 9th: Eventing: Individual and Team Jumping Finals, with medal presentation.
Wednesday and Thursday, August 10-11th: Dressage: Grand Prix Day 1 & 2
Friday, August 12th: Dressage: Grand Prix Special, with medal presentation.
Sunday, August 14th: Show Jumping: Individual Qualification
Monday, August 15th: Dressage: Individual Grand Prix Freestyle, with medal presentation.
Tuesday, August 16th: Show Jumping: Team Qualification
Wednesday, August 17th: Show Jumping: Team Finals, with medal presentation.
Friday, August 19th: Show Jumping: Individual Finals, with medal presentation.
That’s nearly two full weeks of equestrian Olympic coverage! We hope that you were able to get time off work and call in the barn-sitter accordingly. August is going to be all about Rio, and we just can’t wait for the action to start.
Thank you so much for posting this information. It is often a very tiresome task to hunt for equestrian event coverage.
I guess those who can’t live stream will have to put up with the tv coverage as Foxtel isn’t covering it bumma
This website says there will be live coverage of some of the eventing and dressage on USA Network: http://eventingnation.com/watch-eventing-at-the-olympics-live-on-usa-network/

We wish we knew all the channels broadcasting the Olympics, but you should check with your local provider.
How do I get the equestrian comps for the Olympics through you?
Thanks for asking but we unfortunately do not have the ability to provide these.
